Data Action Impact is a social enterprise helping purpose driven leaders to amplify their capacity for positive impact through data-driven insights, enabling informed decision-making and meaningful action
We want a future where data and evidence is used for social good- to alleviate poverty, reduce health disparities, and improve lives for people experiencing disadvantage.
We believe data are a means to an end and not an end in itself and that data have the potential to help for purpose organisations (not for profits, charities and social enterprises) work at a scale larger than ever before and to solve real problems more efficiently and effectively.
Data can help organisations to do more good by
We understand the importance of data and want to ensure that the same tools and techniques that companies use to boost profits can be leveraged by purpose-driven organisations to improve the world.
However, most social change organisations don’t have the budget or staff to take full advantage of this data revolution. We want the 'for purpose sector' to have the capability to do so. That is why half of all profit goes towards building capacity, training and conducting research to improve the use of data and evidence in the sector. We provide pro bono training and consulting services to small charities as well.
We want to build long-term partnerships with organisations who are interested in change and want to build intelligence into their organisations. We want to ensure we are increasing capability across the sector and empowering people to create a bigger impact.
We understand that meaningful transformations require more than just surface-level adjustments. They demand time, dedication, and unwavering perseverance. Real change isn't just about implementing new strategies or programs, it's about fostering a profound shift in mindset, culture, and practices.
Trust is the foundation of our relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders. We prioritise transparency, honesty, and open communication in all interactions. We strive to earn and maintain trust by delivering on our promises, acting with integrity, and consistently upholding ethical standards.
We understand that data are not inherently bias-free. That's why we're committed to mitigating biases and promoting fairness in our data collection, analysis, and interpretation processes. We prioritise examining and addressing biases to ensure accurate and representative insights.
Rabia Khan
Data Whisperer, Epidemiologist, Change maker - Amplifying impact using data to create real change in the world
With over 20 years’ experience working across the world, and in both government and not for profit sector, I have been solving complex problems using data. I have worked on issues like COVID-19 pandemic, antibiotic resistance, mental health, poor housing, air pollution, and even making our complex public systems work better. I have worked in big organisations like the OECD, NHS England, NSW Health, Queensland Health and The George Institute to create meaningful change across the world.
I have found my ‘sweet spot’ in using data to help people to do more good, to make better decisions, and to increase their impact through meaningful change. I work with people to solve problems using data. I also build expertise by sharing my skills and knowledge and telling stories that stick.
The world is unfair and not equal. My mission is to help change it so everybody enjoys a good life. I want to improve the lives of everyone, regardless of the colour of their skin or where they live or how much money they have. It breaks my heart to hear stories where data isn’t solving problems but is causing injustice. I want to collaborate on projects with other problem solvers who want to ensure no one is left behind. There’s so much we can do together.
