Data Action Impact is a social enterprise helping purpose driven leaders to amplify their capacity for positive impact through data driven insights, enabling informed decision-making and meaningful action
We envision a future where data and evidence drive social good, where insights are used to alleviate poverty, reduce health disparities, and improve lives for those experiencing disadvantage.
At Data Action Impact, we see data as a means to an end, not the end itself. When used effectively, data empowers social impact organisations including nonprofits, charities, start ups and social enterprises to solve real problems at scale, work more efficiently, and maximise their impact.
How Data drives Impact:
Yet, many social impact organisations lack the budget, resources, or internal capacity to fully leverage data. We believe that the same tools and techniques that corporations use to drive profits should be available to mission-driven organisations to improve the world.
That’s why we reinvest 50% of our profits into capacity building, training, and research to strengthen the sector’s ability to use data effectively. We also provide pro bono training and consulting to small charities to ensure equitable access to data-driven decision-making.
We don’t just offer services, we build long-term partnerships with organisations committed to change.
Our goal is to increase data capability across the sector, empower changemakers, and help organisations create a bigger, more sustainable impact.
We understand that meaningful transformations require more than just surface level adjustments. They demand time, dedication, and unwavering perseverance.
Real change isn't just about implementing new strategies or programs, it's about fostering a profound shift in mindset, culture, and practices.
Trust is the foundation of our relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders. We prioritise transparency, honesty, and open communication in all interactions.
We strive to earn and maintain trust by delivering on our promises, acting with integrity, and consistently upholding ethical standards.
We understand that data are not inherently bias-free. That's why we're committed to mitigating biases and promoting fairness in our data collection, analysis, and interpretation processes.
We prioritise examining and addressing biases to ensure accurate and representative insights.
Rabia Khan
Data Whisperer, Epidemiologist, Change maker - Amplifying impact using data to create real change in the world
With over 20 years’ experience working across the world, and in both government and not for profit sector, I have been solving complex problems using data. I have worked on issues like COVID-19 pandemic, antibiotic resistance, mental health, poor housing, air pollution, and even making our complex public systems work better. I have worked in big organisations like the OECD, NHS England, NSW Health, Queensland Health and The George Institute to create meaningful change across the world.
I have found my ‘sweet spot’ in using data to help people to do more good, to make better decisions, and to increase their impact through meaningful change. I work with people to solve problems using data. I also build expertise by sharing my skills and knowledge and telling stories that stick.
But I also know that the world is deeply unfair. Too often, data isn’t solving problems, it’s reinforcing injustices. That’s why my mission is simple: to use data as a force for equity, so that no one is left behind. Regardless of ethnicity, income, or geography, everyone deserves a fair shot at a good life.
I want to collaborate with changemakers, problem-solvers, and mission-driven organisations who believe that data should be used to create solutions and not barriers. If that’s you, let’s talk. There’s so much we can do together.
We also have a reliable network of senior subject matter experts who lead or provide specialised advice on our projects. They have expertise in specific techniques and sectors. We also have a group of volunteers who provide support for our mentoring and training events.
